V&A: 'Fashioned from Nature'

We were thoroughly inspired by Fashioned from Nature, an exhibition currently on at the V&A. The exhibition masterfully teaches viewers about the origins of clothing and the processes that take place, from sowing crops to sewing couture, in the fashion industry.

Particularly intriguing was the work of Diana Scherer, an artist whose botanical expertise has led her to construct cloth entirely out of the roots of plants, which grow together and fuse to create a lace-like, organic filigree. On display at the exhibition was her 2017 Oat Root Dress, pictured above.

Georgina’s great concern for the environment manifests itself in her desire to create shoes that last. She avoids fast fashion, choosing not to release new designs every season. Instead, Georgina's shoes are designed to stand the test of time, in both their style and durability.
Fashioned from Nature is showing at the Victoria and Albert Museum until 27th January.
